We periodically write micro blogs (snippets) about small factors that effect your website search engine optimisation (SEO).
#3 Today’s micro blog is about…User Interaction
Website visitors tend to trust a site more if it is ranked on the first page of search engine results. Google gathers data from Chrome to find out how many people are visiting a particular site in the belief that sites that have more traffic are of a higher quality. It’s a well known fact that sites with a lot of visitors tend to rank higher in Google but having repeat visitors can also boost your SEO ranking.
Allowing customer comments on your site pages can be an indication to Google of user interactivity which has a positive effect by increasing your SEO rankings.
If someone has bookmarked your site in Google Chrome then it is probable that your site is a quality site and may see a boost in its search engine rankings.
Time Spent on Your Website
Google now pays close attention to how long visitors spend on your site known as ‘dwell time’. The period of time they spend on your site says a lot about you and your brand. Ideally, the more time spent browsing your website, the better. This portrays the idea that your site is relevant to the search criteria of the user. However, if people don’t spend much time on your site, Google could get the impression that your site is not as relevant to the search phrase used to get to it and subsequently could push your site lower down in SERP’s.
